Mold Lawsuit Against City Underway

Testimony is underway in a lawsuit filed against the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara and its top three administrators. Inger Budke, resident coordinator at the SHIFCO complex for seniors, located on the Mesa, has alleged that mold and mildew, especially following a 2011 flood, have caused health problems — including asthma, bronchitis, allergies, and sinus infection — for her husband and two daughters. The case will likely hinge on the expert opinions of doctors.
