Hoping there will be extra revenue leftover in the Sheriff’s Department’s budget to help offset costs, the Board of Supervisors okayed $100,000 to fix one of the county Air Support Unit’s helicopters beset with engine problems. Sheriff’s officials said a full fleet is important to being able to carry out the unit’s mission, especially with high fire season upon us.
