Emmy nominated Chef Nathan Lyon, author of Great Food Starts Fresh and co-host of PBS Growing a Greener World, is coming to Peabody Charter School! This event celebrates the Million Tomato Compost Campaign reaching its nationwide goal, with school and community gardens producing over one million tomatoes.

Chef Lyon is known to television viewers across the country for his simple, innovative cuisine featuring fresh, seasonal, local ingredients. On Thursday, October 24, he will work with students, sharing his talents and recipes; capped off with lunch that includes fresh fruits and vegetables grown in Peabody’s school garden.

Harvest Blend Compost has worked closely with Peabody School; collecting food-waste, composting it, and returning it to the School Garden. This celebration recognizes the efforts of all involved; encouraging students to recycle their organic waste, compost it and amend the soil with the compost to grow healthy food.
