The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the Bates Road on-ramp to southbound U.S. 101 for approximately five weeks beginning on February 3 in order to expedite reconstruction of the ramp for anticipated completion in summer 2014.

Traffic will be detoured to the northbound U.S. 101 Bates Road on-ramp, exit at the Highway 150/Rincon Road off-ramp, west on Rincon Road to southbound U.S. 101 via the southbound Rincon Road on-ramp.

Work relates to construction of a six-mile carpool lane from Mussel Shoals in Ventura County to Carpinteria in Santa Barbara County. Granite Construction is the contractor on the $102 million project, estimated to complete by early 2015.
