ISLA VISTA, CALIF. – California College Republican co-chair Alice Gilbert (UC Santa Barbara ‘15) appeared on the FOX News program Fox & Friends Sunday morning to talk about what it is like to be a conservative on a college campus.

Gilbert, along with CCR Chairman Shawn Lewis, were featured in an ABC News story about life as a conservative studying on liberal-leaning college campuses.

“I had an incident on the first day of class where a professor told all of the Ted Cruz-supporting ‘teabaggers’ to get the hell out of his classroom before he sent us to our mothers in a bodybag,” Gilbert said during the program. “That was shocking, to say the least.”

Gilbert added that she dropped that particular class due to the targeting by the professor, but hasn’t had further issues with other UC Santa Barbara political science classes.

The College Republican National Committee has organized a social media campaign – entitled #MyLiberalCampus – to expose professors and college administrators who target Republicans and conservatives on campus.
