Ventura Firm to Study Impact of Planned Cyclic-Steam Wells

Thu Jun 05, 2014 | 12:00am

Ventura-based consulting firm Marine Research Specialists will handle the environmental assessment of the 96 new cyclic-steam injection wells proposed by Pacific Coast Energy Company last fall; the 96 wells would accompany the existing 96 cyclic-steam wells at the company’s Orcutt oil field. The project would also bring 7,400 feet of above-ground pipelines, a permit for the 94 seep cans installed for its original 96 wells, and a plan for addressing future seeps. The draft of the environmental report should be available later this year.
