Power outages continued to affect portions of the South Coast on Friday morning, following Thursday night’s blackout, which reportedly affected close to 20,000 people across downtown Santa Barbara and Montecito. Southern California Edison said that 2,648 customers in the 93108 zip code lost power at a little past 7 a.m. on Friday. The power company attributed the latest lights-out scenario to an equipment problem and said customers should see relief by 2:30 p.m. on Friday.

A smaller outage — affecting only two customers — is ongoing in the 93013 zip code, with Edison blaming the problem on equipment issues and stating that power should return by 1:15 p.m.
