Legendary rocker and Santa Ynez Valley resident David Crosby hit a jogger with his car on Sunday evening on Baseline Avenue in Santa Ynez. The jogger, a 46-year-old male Santa Ynez resident, was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital after the collision with “multiple fractures, abrasions, and lacerations,” but his injuries aren’t life-threatening, the California Highway Patrol stated in a report.

Just before 6 p.m., Crosby, 73, was driving westbound and the man was jogging on the right of the road side when the front of Crosby’s 2015 black Tesla struck him. According to the CHP, Crosby — who wasn’t under the influence of alcohol or drugs — was driving the speed limit, 55 miles per hour. He stopped his car immediately, the CHP report noted. Investigators are looking into what may have caused the accident.
