At approximately 9:40 p.m. Friday night, a hit-and-run collision killed 67-year-old Victoria Harris of Cambria on Hollister Avenue west of Arboleda Road.
Eileen E. Fox, 50, of Santa Barbara was driving her 2013 Nissan Murano westbound on Hollister Ave. approaching Arboleda Rd., where Harris had parked her 2015 Toyota Corolla on the north shoulder on Hollister Ave. According to a California Highway Patrol (CHP) press release, Harris had stepped out of her Toyota and was hit by the Nissan, which crushed her against her own car. Harris was then thrown westward and landed in the road. She was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, where she died due to injuries.
Fox fled westbound in her Nissan on Hollister Ave., but she was found on a CHP lead.
The CHP arrested Fox at a Goleta residence on alleged charges of felony hit and run and involuntary manslaughter. She was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail and bailed out on $100,000 bail.
