A Carpinteria man already on probation for burglary charges was arrested Saturday for robbing a Little Caesars at gunpoint, Sheriff’s officials said. At around 7:30 p.m., deputies responded to the pizzeria in the 1000 block of Casitas Pass in Carpinteria. Workers said the suspect — 34-year-old Cameron Long — entered the business, displayed a black handgun, and demanded money from the register. He made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Shortly after deputies began their search of the area, said Sheriff’s spokesperson Kelly Hoover, they located Long a few blocks away. “Sheriff’s deputies obtained evidence connecting Long to the armed robbery at Little Caesars Pizza as well as evidence indicating he allegedly planned to rob a nearby pharmacy inside a retail store that had closed for the day,” said Hoover.

Long was booked in County Jail on multiple charges. Due to his probation violation, he is ineligible for bail.
