Previewing an entirely different sort of summer camp, Barney Brantingham found himself taking a faux Renaissance art tour at the Venetian hotel in Las Vegas recently. He compared our Summer Camp cover to the Venetian’s reproductions, and, happily, he says The Indy’s issue artists, Ben Ciccati and Caitlin Fitch, held their own. During his rambles avoiding the gambling halls, Barney had a fine view of Trump Tower, reflecting the sunset and the fading dreams of would-be winners at the tables. But, strangely, gambling isn’t bringing in the dollars it used to.
