An April 30 traffic incident on Black Road in Santa Maria has led to a wider pool of arrests. In the late evening of the 30th, a Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a black BMW after seeing an alleged violation, whereupon the driver took off, crashed into parked cars, and two people then ran for it. Rudy Ramos jumped a fence and escaped; Angelina Tejeda was apprehended.

As detectives from the Sheriff’s Office tried to find Ramos — who was arrested on May 10 — they gained information about several of his acquaintances, identifying four with outstanding warrants or other violations. The Sheriff’s Office alleges the six arrested the next day were gang members:

On May 11, Lawrence Ramos, 29, was arrested while driving a vehicle in Santa Maria that had been reported stolen earlier that morning; he had three warrants, including one on $150,000 bail. On the same day, David Tinoco, 28, was arrested in Pismo Beach for alleged parole violation. In Pismo, Andres Navarro, 24, was jailed on parole violation charges. Gabriel Fuentes, 36, was taken in for probation violation charges; he’d also been booked the night before by San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office for alleged narcotics sales. At the same Pismo bust, Alana Austria, 36, and Gloria Lawag, 21, were cited for narcotics paraphernalia possession.
