Las Positas Road between Stanley Drive and McCaw Avenue was closed until 7 a.m. Monday after a Toyota 4Runner crashed into a power pole near the entrance to MacKenzie Park on Sunday morning. Although the male driver suffered no injuries, the collision required “major repair operation,” said City Fire engineer Kevin Corbett in a press release. Repairs shut down a 0.2-mile section of Las Positas.

Overnight, Southern California Edison had replaced two power poles and restrung damaged wires, according to Corbett. “There [was] a potential for the surrounding neighborhoods to have intermittent power outages,” he said. City police are investigating the accident. The county’s Public Works department set barricades and traffic cones during the road closure.
