The California Delta, in the heart of the state, is the only place in America where the Chinese have maintained and sustained a presence for nearly a century and a half. Here, immigrants from China transformed swampland into one of the richest agricultural regions on Earth. This is their story, about how they came and thrived despite hardship and discrimination, an experience that has been both bitter and sweet.

Admission is free for Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation members, $5 suggested donation for non-members. Dinner can be purchased at 6PM (one hour before screening); reception to follow.

Visit www.sbthp.org/aafs or call (805) 961-5374 for more details.

The 10th Annual Asian American Film Series is presented by the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation and is made possible by the generous support of the George H. Griffiths and Olive J. Griffiths Charitable Foundation.
