Asian Small-Clawed Otter Litter Born at Santa Barbara Zoo

Five baby Asian small-clawed otters arrived at the S.B. Zoo (500 Niños Dr.) last month, the first of their species to be born at the park in more than 20 years. The litter was the first for both of their parents, and the pups are healthy and growing. According to the zoo, the otter babies will remain off-exhibit until they’re old enough to swim, but should be on display to visitors sometime this November. Call 962-5339 for more info.
