Description: The Theater UCSB season continues with The Knight from Olmedo, a classic of world theatre written by Lope de Vega (1562-1635), a major figure in Spanish Baroque literature of the 17th century. The Knight from Olmedo performs in the UCSB Performing Arts Theatre, February 15-23, 2008.

Based on a historical event that had been memorialized by a popular ballad
in the period, The Knight from Olmedo is a passionate and familiar tale of young lovers, emotional complications, and pervasive deceit.
