Westmont Gets New Telescope

Westmont College is now home to a 24-inch reflector telescope, one of the most powerful telescopes along the Central Coast. The new Keck Telescope, which is scheduled to be dedicated today, is named after the W.M. Keck Foundation, the primary grant foundation responsible for funding the telescope. The telescope is located in the school’s Carroll Observatory and is an observing site for the Santa Barbara Astronomical Unit.
