Kathleen Zaratzian

TWO Zs, FOUR STARS: Kathleen Zaratzian’s byline has appeared atop a range of stories this summer, including this week’s news feature about victims of the Gap Fire (page 31). This Dos Pueblos High School alumna and current Indy intern brings to the office her experience as a double major in English and American studies at UC Berkley. Zaratzian, 20, credits her experience covering general news assignments with helping her to understand more about the county she lives in and helping change her from a “human interest story kind of person” to someone who reads the wonkier side of news as well. Her quiet nature belying a love of a theater and a childhood of ballet, Zaratzian plans to study in Paris during the spring.
