Health 2-5

American Medical Response has for the past month been using three new Sprinter ambulances, which are lighter and smaller but nevertheless have more room for patients and crew, allowing emergency medical technicians to stand up in the back. The vehicles also feature supply cabinets that light up and softer sirens.

A campaign to help pediatricians give basic health information to parents of young kids was unveiled on 2/3 by First 5 Commission of Santa Barbara County and United Way. It consists of a Web site,, and materials written by Santa Barbara pediatricians who don’t have time in a single visit to discuss all the issues they need to, such as sleeping, eating right, and dental care.
