Perhaps the solution to the medical marijuana distribution fiasco is to do it citywide from the library’s bookmobile and benefit the library’s broken financing also.
As I recall, some years ago, former councilmembers Dan Secord (MD) and Elinor Langer opposed medical marijuana because there were professionally administered real medical alternatives.
These two responsible councilmembers also were courageous to support state-mandated water fluoridation in a council meeting that rivaled the Salem witch trials. We still do not fluoridate as required by state law and poor children suffer the loss.

Whoever said that our councilmembers had to have any brains?

Gary, Right on with the outlawing medical mariguana and the pro fluoridation in our drinking water. . That is so perfect. Then we can expand it, set up authorities over ever speck of our lives. Demand we drink a certain type of tea, use a certain type of toothpaste, eat only certain foods, but why stop there, have a state religion, make homelessness illegal, we could completely abolish all individual right to choose to liveour lives as we see fit , even though we dont harm anyone else. Why we could make it a uniform, authoritarian, conformist society like the utopian experiment they have going in North Korea.
Bravo!
