Errant Ranting

In last week’s post-election edition, the coverage team wrote, “Given the anti-incumbent atmosphere pervading politics across the country, Wolf’s reelection was not a sure thing.” [News, “Dems Sweep S.B. Races,” 6/10/10]

Evidently they didn’t notice that every incumbent that ran for reelection in the State of California won. All 52 of them. And the results were pretty similar nationwide.

It would appear the media has been suckered by the errant ranting of the noisy fringe when it should have been paying more attention to the quiet center.—Mike Ramey, S.B.
