Jury Selection in Murder Case Continues

Jury selection is still ongoing in the trial of four defendants—Ruben Mize, Bryan Medinilla, Raul Diaz and Ricardo Nava Jr.— who are each facing murder charges in the death of Lorenzo Carachure on San Pascual Street in 2007. The quartet also face a charge of being members of a criminal street gang when the stabbing death occurred. Mize is additionally facing an attempted murder charge for an assault that took place on 1/17/08, and all four face two other counts of attempted murder. Opening statements could occur early next week.
