California is ranked 49th in the nation (I have no idea who's lower) and if you want more of the same, keep voting the way the uber-liberal Indie tells you! Why not? Soon you too will be paying taxes (UCSB/SBCC) students and you will pay the price for not researching issues more carefully! (I don't expect that from the Indie staff... but dear reader... beware!)

Over the years, I have come to trust the Independent's political endorsements. It's good to know that someone who has done the research happens to agree with my own assessments.
We must rally around and protect our communities in these difficult times of limited budgets, against the forces of BIG BUSINESS, POLITICIANS who are BOUGHT by BIG BUSINESS, and ignorant voters who are swayed by BIG BUSINESS and FEAR-MONGERING POLITICIANS.

This is far better than the Independent -- look for instance at the argument at the above site for Harris over Cooley for AG -- it's way beyond the limited political insight of the Indy staff.

We got another reason to vote Capps out of office. Nancy Pelosi will quit congress if she can't be the Speaker. Not childish or anything but what a GREAT REASON to vote Watson.
