Ruben Mize, an Eastside gang member accused—along with Bryan Medinilla, Ricardo Nava, and Raul Diaz—in the 2007 murder of Lorenzo Carachure, saw his older brother Robert Martinez testify against him this week. Martinez, who himself is facing serious state and federal charges including some related to this case, said he originally tried covering for Mize with an alibi when he was first arrested, but said his brother told him they had stabbed someone.

Great family. Killers, gang members, rats and the father is also a convicted gang member.
The good news! The tax payer is stuck with the tab, a BIG tab at that.

Do you honestly feel its fair to judge and punish this family as a whole? Mize's eldest brother recently passed away due to a natural cause, not gang related. Mize's mother a very innocent bi-standard I'm sure struggled to raise three teenage boys with yes, a father who could have made better choices but still does Ms. Mize deserve to be put on the back burner? If she could have chosen the path for these men they all three wouldn't be where they are now. With all regards to the Carachure family, Ms. Mize is suffering a great deal of pain having to face her youngest boy behind a glass for the rest of his life, dealing with the loss of her eldest son and still having to raise her youngest child, a pre-teen girl with a few disabilities alone because the father's in prison at the time. So I ask you again is it fair to ridicule this entire family? Ruben made a very bad decision and yes, deserves to be punished for it but his family is not to blame so don't punish them as well.
