Police Nab Suspected Car Thief

Police allege 28-year-old Steven Romero stole a vehicle from Fresno and drove to Santa Barbara to pick up his girlfriend, who had recently been released from Santa Barbara County Jail. Detectives spotted the Honda Civic with a damaged front end and ran the license plate through their system. The car came up stolen. Romero was arrested inside Ralphs supermarket on West Carrillo Street.
