ALDEN ARRIVES: Last Thursday was the last day on the job before The Santa Barbara Independent’s art director, Sarah Wilkinson, took off for maternity leave, but the timing was perfect: Alden Phelan Taugher was born to Sarah and husband, Damon Taugher, the next morning around dawn at Cottage Hospital. Weighing in at a strong 7 lbs., 4 oz., and measuring 20 inches long, the strapping young lad has his father’s nose and mother’s napping skills. While his older brother, a French bulldog named Stuart, is still giving Alden some leery looks, Sarah and Damon couldn’t be more excited. “We are, above all, thankful for health,” they said. “It’s the most precious gift we could’ve received.”
