World Wide Knit in Public Day

World Wide Knit in Public Day arrives Saturday, June 9th. Loop and Leaf, Santa Barbara's destination for knitters and fiber artists, will host its fifth annual day long celebration of all things knitting.

As in past years, we will be celebrating our wonderful craft with tons of fiber related activities, including mini technique workshops, felting, and spinning demonstrations.

New this year will be a Yarn Bombing feature, where you will have an opportunity to participate in the hottest new trend in the underground knitting world.

We will also be joined by some adorable (and oh-so-soft) animals from Canzelle Alpacas, and you can see first hand how yarn is made. Demonstrations and crafting opportunities for children and adults will be available throughout the day, and the evening will end with a fashion show of some amazing works of wearable art.

Food from Culture Shock and ice cream from Sugar and Salt Creamery will be available for purchase. Non-knitters too, can enjoy the festivities by sampling delicious drinking chocolates by local choclate-makers at Twenty-Four Blackbirds, or indulging in a chair massage by massage therapist, D’ann, available throughout the day.

We hope you can all join us for this “knit out” opportunity, and Happy World Wide Knit in Public Day!
