Earlier this year, as the nation reeled from the Sandy Hook shootings, The Santa Barbara Independent decided to take a hard look at gun violence and culture in our area. Stepping up to the task were Senior Editor Matt Kettmann (left, sporting his 20-gauge Savage shotgun), News Editor Tyler Hayden (who bought a new Glock as part of his research), and Listings Editor Jack Crosbie (who inherited his 12-gauge shotgun from his uncle’s collection a few years ago).
