San Ramon Man Accused of Sex Crimes in Santa Barbara

A San Ramon man is accused of sexually assaulting a 22-year-old female relative of his in Santa Barbara.

Last month, police met with a woman who said she had been sexually assaulted three times by Faiyaz Naziruddin. Two of the alleged assaults occurred in San Ramon in 2009. The third incident allegedly happened in Santa Barbara in November 2012 while the woman was attending school here.

After a followup investigation, police arrested Naziruddin on May 29 in Hayward for alleged rape by force, violence, duress, menace or fear; sodomy with a victim unconscious of the nature of the act; sexual penetration with a foreign object; false imprisonment; and sexual battery.

He was booked into Alameda County Jail and will eventually be transferred to Santa Barbara County Jail.
