Thanks, Nick Welsh, for last week’s Poodle about Cheney‘s key role in the instigation of the Iraq War. And now he’ll be moving to our quaint town - a sobering thought. Dick, maybe “We’ll leave you alone here”, as Nick suggests, but I hope your conscience (assuming you have one, which is probably a foolish assumption) will never ever let you rest and that not even your walled and gated mega-villa will grant you respite.

Perhaps you’ll be chauffeured to Sterns Wharf some sunny Sunday and through the tinted glass of your armored limo will spy the gleaming crosses of Arlington West. Will you connect that sight with the fact that all the fallen symbolically lying there - and so many thousands more - died untimely deaths due to your vicious world view, inhumane greed, and tenacious cruelty? May our peaceful place not let you live the peaceful life which you destroyed for countless others.

If one ever spots Mr.C in SB, the appropriate welcome would be a big round of applause accompanied by listing his accomplishments. Hopefully those witness to such a rare sighting would participate in the noise, but isn't the guy on his 3rd heart or something? Probably doesn't make it out much or for much longer...

Hopefully Spacey is joking. Cheney is not welcome here , or pretty much anywhere, and he will get an earfull if seen around these parts.

Cheney's heart does not have a heartbeat. It's not weak, nor arrhythmic, it does not happen. So he sports a battery-powered pacemaker to initiate the beat. If ever there was an example of poetic justice, this must be it.

I would advise not appealing to his conscience. Modern science has not yet perfected an electronic one.

>> Cheney is not welcome here

It's funny to hear this coming from people who say "hate is not a family value" (which it isn't). How hypocritical. Perhaps "Hate is a Santa Barbara ethic", is more appropriate.

This is NOT a left vs right issue. I see the hate coming from both sides.

It makes me laugh to see the left vilify the right, and then see Hanity scream at the top of his lungs about the vitriol of the left, while he is spewing - um - vitriol. Both sides are hypocrites acting like disgusting nasty snot-nosed little brats who never grew up.

You the left and the right, have the power to stop this insanity with each other.
I'm not suggesting you kiss each other on the lips, but for Christ's sake, grow up and act like adults.

"I'ts his fault, no it's his fault"

Remember when your mother told you to shut up, and she didn't care who started it. Well, ya like that.

Meanwhile you are bickering, the government is robbing you blind.

You - the left, the right, and anyone else - you have the power to not only rise above it, but take back the power from a out of control government peacefully.

Do not accept their tricks, propaganda and puppetry, for you are only pawns in their game. They have you right where the want you - in their control.

Stand for peace, freedom, and the American way Santa Barbara.

Democrats - go kiss a republican
Republicans - go kiss a democrat.

Together, may we rise above nasty bickering, and tyrany.

Here's a suitable welcome letter for Cheney, wherever he goes:

(you will need to replace "**" with "uc" for the link to work)

The letter pretty much sums up Cheney’s political legacy so would also inform a suitable eulogy. According to Snopes, the letter is authentic
