Commendable group of folks.I disagree with Lesbians(any gays) raising a baby. That's just me. Don't bother trying to convince me otherwise.Work on your own priorities.Specifically interested in the surfing aspect for all Santa Barbarians, what else would you do with the ocean right there in front of you?Get with the global programs and devote some interest in preserving and more importantly creating artificial surf/dive/play reefs at headlands that otherwise go to waste.Where is the ingenuity that is prevalent in all other aspects on the Barbary Coast?aargh!jb

Everyone is an idealist from 18 to 35.
Then they grow up.
Santa Barbarians; go talk to Tom Curren; he will straighten you out, if you can get him to talk.

Whatever you do, avoid this movie, and all other Hollywood productions like the proverbial plague ie. 'black'
When you need more input as to the degradation of society this will become a 'must see'.
Meanwhile, do yourself and society a favor, take your kid to the beach, or escape to the South Seas on your yacht with him or her!
Say hi to Tom Curren next time you see him ripping at Rincon or the 'spit' for me.

Santa Barbarians have been a blight on America since it's inception. The microcosm that it is suggests the spoiled life of the rich and famous intermingled with the regular people that populate, work, play, surf, slum, break laws, commit crime, attend university, surf, and be seen, or try not to be seen, as they compete for space and trash the area in general.I grew up in So Cal, and visited, mostly drove thru Sta. Barbaria, many times. The overpopulation of planet earth suggests that this 'leaving trash' story in Sta. Barbaria is not an isolated situation.Good luck SB'ites - it is going to get worse.Thank Obama, and all the Progressive Liberals that preceded him(inclBush) and now Moonbeam.
Where is LInda Ronstadt when you need her?
"You and I" -should be broadcast on mainstreet Santa Barbaria 24/7 !Ciao!

@filmheadone other thingI would thoroughly investigate anyone you deem spiritual. For the reason you so easily deem yourself an interpreter of my lack thereof.A wise man once said;"Unlike other men, I know how ignorant I am"SocratesBCE
and you speak using the word 'clearly'I chuckle.

@filmheadI have more compassion in my little toe than most people have in their entire heart, mind and soul. Thanks for your concern.I walked out of Kramer vs Kramer in a full house with my newest girlfriend at the time.I don't like to support Hollywood and/or almost everything that is produced there - or elsewhere in Hollywood's name.I'll look you up next time I'm in need of a lecture.
