Maybe they should put an independent bookseller. Or perhaps a Ralphs...

On A Public Market Divided

There was a particularly volatile and aggressive homeless man who was camping out on the bench in front of the Granada theatre. He not only occupied the bench, but the surrounding area as he littered incessantly. Occasionally, he'd start to yell in a loud and aggressive manner at passersby, with full profanity. The police were called several times, and each time he returned. So finally, they removed the bench.

Compare and contrast this situation with that of consumers camping out in front of the Apple store for a new release, or in front of the Arlington for a show.

Maybe the Granada theatre should take over the bookstore. Otherwise they run the risk of having a tattoo parlor or a nail saloon open up...

Funny how I heard about this article from a source other than my wife... this is the reason I switched to coaching from reffing - soccer refs are decidely NOT hot.

FYI, that clipboard we carry is not used for mapping out strategies - we use it to prevent anyone questioning us when we tell them what position they're playing. "You want to be on defense this quarter? Sorry, but I've already put you down as left hlafback."

One correction - but I feel it is an important one. Ken Hyman didn't say "it's not a good time to invest in the market because of its recent roller coaster ride. " He said the market has been volatile and unpredictable recently, but that does not make it a bad time to invest. Instead, Ken suggested that this means an investor needs to approach investing with a different mindset, expect volatiltity, and question the conventional "buy & hold" mantra.
