Ugly. Unwanted. Detrimental to our community. This is not what the "Goodland" is about. This will mean more cars, traffic congestion, and another nail in the grave of local, ma & pa merchants. I agree with italiansburg... This will push Goleta toward the aesthetic found in SM and Oxnard. Take your big box store elsewhere!

This action in addition to the rush to approve a big-box store less than a mile down the road indicate the city leaders' priorities. Old Town will continue to be neglected while resources are devoted to "develop" other areas of the city. More big-box stores will only further detract from the heart and soul of Old Town Goleta. What a shame. Thanks to Easton and Perotte for taking a stand.
On De-prioritzing Old Town Goleta?

Old Town is the heart of Goleta. It has character and soul. What a blow it is to the city to loose these redevelopment funds. I hope they don't give up the dream of a revitalized Old Town. There's so much potential for this neighborhood. With some planning and the necessary resources, this area could be a thriving and vibrant community. And please, I hope they remember to involve and enlist the help of its residents. There's a great deal of community resources --in terms of its people-- that could be mobilized. іViva Goleta!

Obviously the award was revoked in light of DiCaprio's failure to get an Academy Award nomination. The SBIFF awards are specifically designed to spotlight the upcoming Oscar nominees. Everyone thought DiCaprio would get a nomination for supporting actor for Django Unchained. Instead, Tarantino was nominated for original screenplay for Django.

It's ironic that Steve Pappas is accusing Farr of thwarting the election process. Isn't that exactly what he's trying to do?

Great hike. But with 2,100+ feet of elevation gain, I would not call it a "relatively easy dayhike".

No Excuse... but I did notice that all the Ladies were (allegedly) raped by this guy.
Had he not raped them maybe they wouldn't have gotten raped.
Is there a lesson here?
