I'd say this is a tempest in a pee pot! However I commend Starshine for writing a sensitive article about a sensitive topic. Nobody ever woke up one day and WANTED to be transgender. It is a helluva thing to be a male in a female body or vice versa and these folks deserve our compassion, respect and accommodation, IMHO.

Dario and his friend Jacob who raised almost $13,000 are the hope for our future. My hat is off to their most excellent parents and siblings!

I support Alt #3. It does not seem overly intrusive. However I think the devil is in the details and all concerned posters should plan to attend on Dec.4 at the SB Library. I am concerned that Alt #3 could provide too much development. Access is one thing but stores, restaurants, hotels etc is quite another and I would oppose that.

I'm sure Nala is a sweet dog. However she is what is generally although perhaps inaccurately referred to as a "Pit Bull". I would NOT bring this dog into your home if there are babies or very young children. There have been too many maulings and deaths from sweet family dogs of this breed. It is not that they are inherently "evil" however they are so powerful that if they do get angry or merely aggressive for some incomprehensible reason they can quickly and easily seriously injure or kill a very small child. If your poodle or lab gets pissed off nobody is likely to be killed, just bitten.

Freedom of religion is great but it needs to be a two way street. You can be pretty sure if this were an Islamic country other religions would not be free to open churches. Look at Nigeria and other places.

Foofighter, Your point is well taken but keep in mind that Channelkeeper does not have infinite resources, staff etc. I bet if you asked them they would work with you as a volunteer to take on some of that task since you seem genuinely interested in the environment. At least consider the possibility.

Gregg Hart had one of the worst environmental protection records ever when he was on the Coastal Commission. Please do not vote for that man.

Starshine. We'd all be really upset if anything ever happened to you. Please get a stun gun or something like it and take a course so you are really adept at using it. Half a century ago as a pre teen me and my friends would wander Times Square and other seedy parts of Manhattan and the subways without any fear ( all of us boys). I would be loathe to let any 12 year old wander alone or in a small group in those same places nowadays. Times have changed and in many ways for the worse.
