Three Pickles Sub Sandwiches has taken over the
former Chio’s location on Canon Perdido. Although considerably less
pink, it’s still a satisfying substitution for the midday crowds
mourning the loss of the famous lunch box. 128 E. Canon Perdido
St., #A.

Don’t stop ’til you get enough: Restaurant Nu’s chef
David Cecchini is at it again
. His latest cooking class,
next Wednesday, features stews, ragoûts, and fondues, so be
prepared for a night of slow cooking that is oh-so-worth-the-wait:
veal cheeks, duck confit, and lobster fondue with truffles. If
that’s not decadence, I don’t know what is. Wednesday, April 19,
5:30 p.m. at the Old Masini Adobe; $75 per person. Reserve your
spot by calling 695-8464 or emailing oldmasiniadobe@cox.net.

Say it ain’t so, Andrea! Word on the street has it that the
owners of L’Ombretta and Eclectico are shuttering
the sister Italian eateries and retiring from the restaurant biz.
Just when this town finally had a decent pizza.
