#2) Mariel Hemingway: Ernest’s granddaughter is an actress who’s overcome much hardship, and tells all in her book, Mariel Hemingway’s Healthy Living from the Inside Out.

#3) Jane Heller: A volunteer at Cottage Hospital, Heller turned her experiences into an enjoyable novel called Some Nerve about an entertainment journalist.

#4) Lynne Cox: The famous endurance swimmer and UCSB grad, whose Swimming to Antarctica won rave reviews, has a new book called Grayson, about a 17-year-old girl who reunites a mother whale with its calf.

#5) James Rollins: A Sacramento veterinarian by day and bestselling author by night, Rollins’s latest novel, Black Order, mixes up historical mystery with globe-trotting adventure.
