South Coast Experiences Record Temperatures

Summer showed up a few months ahead of schedule this week and sent the mercury soaring throughout the South Coast. A high-pressure system was joined by some hefty and very warm offshore winds, causing thermometers in several locations to hit record-breaking highs on 5/8. Both Goleta and downtown Santa Barbara, which topped out at 90 degrees, set all-time-high marks for the date.
