Medical Panel Discusses How Environment Affects Health

From physicians to hospital administrators to nutritionists, health professionals of all stripes and permutations were out in force on 5/14 as the City of Santa Barbara convened a panel on subtle ways the human-created environment affects public health. The city is beginning its General Plan update and hopes health providers will influence policies and neighborhood designs that will benefit public health-for example, changes that encourage walking and bike riding.
