Benson Named New City Creeks Manager

Cameron Benson, executive director of the Environmental Defense Center, has been hired as the new creeks manager for the City of Santa Barbara. Benson will be stepping down from the EDC to replace Jill Zachary, who was recently named assistant parks and recreation director. Benson, who also previously served as district director for former assemblymember Hannah-Beth Jackson, will oversee the city’s creek and ocean water quality programs, as well as restoration projects.
