Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown and Fire Chief John Scherrei broke ground on 5/29 for a new $5.2-million public safety center in Lompoc that will serve as a home for the two public safety operations there. The 12,582-square-foot building will feature living quarters for on-duty firefighters, sheriff’s operation offices, and a conference and training room. The funding was authorized under certificate of participation financing.
