NLRB Sets Hearing Date for <em>News-Press</em>

On 5/31 the National Labor Relations Board filed a wide-ranging complaint against the Santa Barbara News-Press, setting an 8/14 hearing date. The NLRB complaint alleges that the newspaper violated federal law by-amongst other claims-firing newsroom employees over unionization efforts. The NLRB is reportedly still considering whether to petition the federal district court in L.A. for an injunction compelling the NP to reinstate fired employees and remedy the other unfair labor practices.
