Developers behind what’s been dubbed the North Hills project – a proposed 7,500 new homes to be built between Orcutt and Los Alamos – have indefinitely postponed their hearing with county supervisors, originally slated for 7/10. On 6/12, planning commissioners voted 4-1 against a proposal to study the major zoning changes needed to approve the development. The decision to pull the item is a strategic retreat designed to allow the developers to assess their options.
