County Looks into Waste Conversion Technology

Santa Barbara County is investigating conversion technology as a way to address the 54 percent increase in trash production it has seen in the past 17 years. Despite major increases in recycling of electronic, construction, and other types of waste, the Resource Recovery and Waste Management Department is looking to decrease the amount the county is dumping into landfills even further by converting waste into energy.
