Zaca Fire Seems to Crawl to a Strop

After nearly eight weeks of non-stop destruction, the Zaca Fire appears to be in its final stages, with its borders more than 95 percent under control and full containment slated for 9/4. Even as firefighting crews were being sent home, remaining hot spots in the blaze continued eating acres, making it nearly the largest fire in California history. As of press time, the blaze had consumed more than 240,000 acres, at a cost of $108 million.
