Anti-Racism Lecture Series Held at SBCC

Santa Maria City Councilmember Hilda Zacarias spoke to a diverse audience of students, professors, and local community members on 11/8 at Santa Barbara City College. The lecture marked the 17th year of the Leonardo Dorantes Memorial lecture series, which was established to commemorate the racially motivated murder of then SBCC student Dorantes in November 1990. “In this society, the greatest privileges are granted based on race and on gender,” she explained.
