Record Auto Theft This Year Say City Police

On 11/29, the Santa Barbara Police Department reported 40 automobile burglaries in the city in the past month. That’s up from 15-20 in typical months. The method of the burglaries varies-prying open doors with tools or simply smashing windows-but police are reminding all citizens that leaving valuables where passersby can see them is an invitation to have their cars burglarized and their valuables stolen.
