The Carpinteria Arts Center (855 Linden Ave., Carpinteria) will host its final Black, White, and Re[a]d All Over poetry reading this Saturday, June 7, from 5-7:30 p.m. This installment’s featured reader will be Santa Barbara sculptor, designer, and poet Alison Schaumburg.
Something Old, Something New Wave
Art From Scrap’s sixth annual assemblage art show is looking for folks 18 years old or older who are interested in submitting works of assemblage art made from musical instruments. The Kids Are Alright
The 2008 Teen Arts Mentorship Group Exhibition will kick off this Friday, June 6, at the Arts Fund Gallery (205-C Santa Barbara St.). The show will highlight works from 27 high school students who participated in the fund’s annual mentorship programs, led by master artists in numerous mediums. A reception will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m., and the works will hang through Friday, July 11.
