Them Terribles

Beginning June 10, Santa Barbara natives Them Terribles will have their music available for download on the popular video game Rock Band, joining major rockstars such as Radiohead, The Killers, and Foo Fighters.

Rock Band will be adding the song “Bullets and Guns” to the list of songs gamers can choose from to sing and play. To play, competitors choose an interactive instrument (the drums, the electric guitar, the bass guitar, or vocals), and the closer they get to perfecting the song, the more points and money they earn for other aspects of the game. Rock Band is currently available for Xbox and Playstation systems and will be available for the Nintendo Wii on June 22. This is an exciting opportunity for the band, as it is a completely new platform for Them Terribles to gain exposure worldwide.

Rock Band offered Them Terribles the opportunity to have “Bullets and Guns” on the game after they competed MTV2’s “Dew Circuit Breakout” contest last December. The “Dew Circuit Breakout” is an exciting showcase for up-and-coming bands; groups such as Hellogoodbye and Yellowcard got their start there. Them Terribles landed third place in the competition.

As for playing the game themselves, guitarist Jonny Black explained, “The game is pretty fun, I just hope we don’t fail at our own song.”

See Them Terribles perform live at The Sandbar, 514 State Street, on Wednesday, June 11, at 10 p.m. The show costs $10 and is open to ages 18 and up.
