HAIL TO THE CHIEF

The Santa Barbara Music Club has elected Nathan Rundlett as their new president. Along with Rundlett, the nonprofit also recently welcomed new board member Pia Woolverton and appointed a new Vice President for Concerts (Emile Torick), Treasurer (Marilyn Gilbert), and Recording Secretary (Ann Dwelley).

“M” IS FOR MUSIC

The Hubert Schwyzer Quartet, which was commissioned by Westmont College last spring, is now nearing completion. The collection-made up of a cello, a viola, and two violins-is being handcrafted by master violin maker and Santa Barbara resident James Wimmer. The instruments will be used by faculty members and students throughout the year, and by the Music Academy of the West during summer.

GARDEN STATE

Santa Barbara music staples Headless Household will grace the stage of the Courthouse Jazz Series this Friday, July 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. The event is free to the public and takes place every month at the Courthouse’s Sunken Gardens (1100 Anacapa St.) Proceeds from food, beverage, and VIP ticket sales will benefit the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission.
