• Take the Commute Challenge, a friendly competition with five-member teams making roundtrips using alternative transportation instead of driving alone. Team members log each day they use an eligible mode of transportation (bus, bike, walk, carpool, vanpool, telecommute, train, or skate) to qualify for great prizes. • Pitch in and buy a ticket for the Pacific Pride Foundation Raffle. Tickets are available now for $20 at Pacific Pride Foundation and through members of the Board of Directors. First prize is a $1,000 gas credit card, second prize is two tickets to the smash play Take Me Out, and third prize is an I Love Lucy Monopoly Board Game. The drawing date is Thursday, September 25, and you do not need to be present to win your prize.

• Help your community! Become an adult literacy tutor at your public library. Free training for new tutors begins Monday, August 4, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., and continues on Wednesday, August 6, at the S.B. Public Library (40 E. Anapamu St.). Call 564-5619 for more info.
